J W Young leaves Allcock's to start reel making for Allcock and other selected Redditch based companies. |

William Shakespeare Jnr. in the United Stetes invents the Level Wind for use witch Multiplying Reel. The Shakespeare Corporation is born to later become a multi-national giant. |

Allcock, Young and Shakespeare Continue to expand business independenly in Redditch and the USA. |
1945 |
Allcock's Model Perect hooks become a brand leader worldwide. In conjunction with Young, the Aerial and Felton Crosswind Reels are produced. |

Shakespeare make the world's first Glass Fibre Rod. Young make the first fixed spool reel, the Ambidex, interchangeable for left or right hand wind. |

Allcock and Young are acquired by Cope Allman who consolidate to form Top Tackle. |

Shakespeare acquire the shareholding of Top Tackle. |
1968 |
Serious fire in the Clive Road premises destroys the Warehouse, Rod Production and Service Departaments. |

Shakespeare expand and move to Brook Street premises. The Manufecture of Fly Lines is resumed. |

Major expansion of business commences under the direction of European management. Rod production resumes and exports to foreign markets start to develop. |

Shakespeare transfer operations to he present 27,000 square foot Office and Warehouse manufecturing complex at Broad Ground Road, Lakeside. |

Shakespeare become the undisputed Fishing Tackle Brand Leader in the United Kingdom. |
